Class Sequence - Technical Theatre Arts Classes

MVHS Theatre Arts Performance

"In the Technical Theatre program, students learn to do everything; from constructing a theatrical flat, to the parts of an ellipsoidal reflector spot, to operating a sound board, to stage managing, to every element of technical design, and so much more! Every year it's different, as the curriculum is based on whatever shows the Advanced Drama program is putting on.

Technical Theatre has grown my creative prowess, forcing me to come up with solutions for all the unpredictability we face. The community is the best part, though...I know the other kids in this program better than I know myself."

- Isis Rivenbark

"There is no experience on campus that could match that of the Theatre Arts program. I have not only learned about every factor that makes a performance whole, but I have also found a community with unmatchable kindness and support. Members of the class get experience auditioning and performing in both shows, and in developing the atmosphere of their production through backstage to design lighting, sound, costumes, and sets.

The three dimensional world of theatre is so magical and complex, and this program fully encapsulates all that goes into the experience. If you are looking for a path to a future on stage, you need to be in this class."

- Lily Rosputni
