Summer Success: Credit Advancement & Recovery

The Marana Unified School District Summer Success program provides quality online and in-person high school credit advancement and credit retrieval tailored specifically to meet individual student needs in grades 9-12. Any student, anywhere, can enroll today!   

Our Summer Success Programs are for students who wish to advance their learning over the summer and get ahead in their coursework.  All courses are offered (English, Math, Science, Social Studies and Electives) and Students who enroll in Summer Success can expect the same level of challenge and academic rigor as the classroom learning environment.

Credit Recovery

For MUSD 10th-12th grade students for the 2026-2027 School Year

MUSD is offering Summer 2026 Credit Recovery to help high school students who have previously failed a course and need an opportunity to recover credits and stay on track for graduation.

Summer In-Class Learning at MCAT High School

Courses are offered in-person during two sessions at MCAT High School over the summer. Credit Recovery is taught using Connexus, with support provided from a content area teacher. To support student participation, transportation will be provided from MUSD feeder schools, and breakfast and lunch will be available each day.

2026 Credit Recovery Schedule:

  • Online Registration Opens: April 1, 2026
  • Credit Recovery Courses Begin: June 1, 2026

Program Schedule (Mondays–Thursdays in June)

  • Session 1: June 1 – June 11, 2026
  • Session 2: June 15 – June 25, 2026
  • Classes Monday - Thursday 9:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. Daily on-site attendance required.
  • Transportation will be provided from MUSD feeder schools, and breakfast and lunch will be available.

Courses Available:

  • English: Grades 9–11
  • Math: Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II
  • Social Studies: World History, U.S. History, Government & Economics
  • Science: Biology, Chemistry, Physics

Technology Requirement:

Chromebooks required. District Chromebooks may be checked out starting May 26, 2026.

Cost

$125 per session, and students can complete as many courses as possible.  Register early to ensure placement.

Non-MUSD Students

Students who are not enrolled in MUSD during the 2025-26 or 2026-27 school years will be considered for Session 1 enrollment after 5/29 and Session 2 enrollment after 6/11 following these conditions:

  • Submission of official school records showing a failing grade for the course(s) requested
  • Space available in the course(s) requested
  • Payment of $125 tuition per session

Credit Advancement

For MUSD 9th-12th grade students for the 2026-2027 School Year

Summer Success Credit Advancement is for students who wish to advance their learning over the summer and get ahead in their coursework online.  All courses are offered through Marana Distance Learning (English, Math, Science, Social Studies and Electives) and students can work at their own pace. Students who enroll in these courses should expect the same level of challenge and academic rigor as the classroom learning environment.

Sign up early, Start Classwork Now!

Students can sign-up early and begin coursework immediately between February 16 and April 17, 2026.

Cost

Free! There is no cost to get ahead. There are some openings for out-of-district students, who may attend for a fee.

Program Schedule

All course advancement classes must be completed by June 15, 2026. Families interested in accelerating coursework are encouraged to enroll early to secure a spot before the program closes.

  • This program is for 9th – 12th grade incoming students (2026-2027 school year)
  • Early enrollment begins Feb. 16, and students can begin coursework immediately
  • Courses must be completed by June 15, 2026
  • Spots are limited, and enrollment is first-come, first-served.
