I am excited to continue my career in education at Mountain View as one of the associate principals. After eight years as a band teacher, I am looking forward to continue serving the MVHS community in this new role. I had the opportunity to be the band director here at Mountain View for the past three years, and I loved every moment of getting to know the school and community.

As an Illinois native, I received my bachelor's degree in K-12 music education from North Central College. I taught in Illinois for two years before moving to Tucson. I taught for three years in Coolidge, AZ before taking the position at Mountain View. My master's in educational leadership is from Northern Arizona University.

Throughout my career, I have always made it a goal to foster strong relationships with students, their families, and the school community. Strong relationships are the foundation of a collaborative culture and rich educational experience. This is something I look forward to continuing as an administrator.

At home, I live with my partner, who is a Marana High School teacher, and my two amazing dogs. I look forward to the work we will accomplish together this year!

As Associate Principal, Ms. Francis oversees Discipline and Attendance.

ASSOCIATE PRINCIPAL, Educational Services

PHONE: (520) 579-4400

I am a Tucson native with a strong dedication to education. My career began in elementary education, where I taught third and fifth grade, nurturing a passion for learning in young minds. This foundational experience motivated me to transition into instructional coaching, a role I held for 5 years, supporting educators in refining their teaching practices.

Driven by a desire to make a broader impact, I entered school administration three years ago. In this role, I have implemented initiatives aimed at enhancing student achievement and fostering a positive school culture. My journey into educational leadership is deeply rooted in my own educational experiences, which sparked a lifelong commitment to students’ social, emotional and academic success.

I am excited to join the Marana School District and am especially proud to call this community my home. Outside of work, I am a parent to two wonderful daughters. Alexandra, who is 18 and will be freshman at the University of Arizona, and Allison, who is 11 and going into sixth grade. As a family, we love to go camping, boating, and swimming.

I look forward to working collaboratively with students, staff, and families at Mountain View to create a thriving learning environment.

As Associate Principal, Ms. Swaim oversees Educational Services.
