End of Year Chromebook Collection - Info for Students and Families

Mountain View High School Chromebook Collection 2025-2026

Dear Families and Students of MVHS:

Chromebook collection is coming up very soon as we get closer to the end of the school year! The process will be slightly different for graduating Seniors and Freshman - Juniors. Below are important dates and other details.

Collection Schedule:

• Senior Collection is on Thursday, May 14th.
• Freshman-Junior Collection is on Thursday, May 21st

To support the chromebook collection process, please:

Check to confirm that your student has both their chromebook and their ASUS charger, and that both are in good working order. Remove any stickers that have been placed on the chromebook. Staff will NOT collect any devices with stickers until they are removed.

Clean the screen with a soft, dry antistatic or microfiber cloth. Do not use any liquid on the device.

Remind your student to bring their chromebook and ASUS charger with them to school on their assigned collection day.

Check with your student to ensure that they do not have multiple devices in their possession. If this is the case, please advise them to bring all extra loaner devices back to Leela in the library PRIOR to their collection day. Students should only be returning one device and one ASUS charger on their assigned day.

Senior Chromebook Collection:

• When: Thursday, May 14th in Seniors’ English classes
• Where: MVHS Lecture Hall
• Students will need to bring their chromebooks and chargers with them to school on this day
• Students will receive chromebook collection sheets in their classes that will serve as a receipt for the return of their device.
• Students must have their device and charger turned in to be able to participate in graduation activities.
• Students must remove any stickers from their device prior to turning it in.

Senior Student Google Accounts 

At the conclusion of the school year, senior google accounts will be permanently deleted. Please remind your student to save any important files to a separate account or flash drive.

Freshman - Junior Chromebook Collection:

• When: Thursday, May 21st
• Where: In students’ summit classes (last class of the school day)
• Students will receive chromebook collection sheets in their classes that will serve as a receipt for the return of their device.
• Students must remove any stickers from their device prior to turning it in.

Early/Late Chromebook Collection:

• Students who need to turn in their device and charger early may do so at any time in the MVHS library during school hours.
• Seniors who may be absent on the official May 14th collection day must return devices and chargers by the end of the school day on Monday, May 18th to avoid any fines.

Summer School Chromebooks:

• Students enrolled in a summer school class may NOT keep their devices and chargers  to use for their class.
• Students must check out a new device and charger from the library starting 5/22 until 5/29.

Fines:

• Seniors with any fines on their accounts due to repairs, missing devices, or missing library books must pay those online or in the bookstore by Thursday, May 21st in order to fully participate in graduation activities.
• Please be advised that any students with damaged devices who turn them in at any time may incur repair fines if they do not have chromebook insurance.
• Fines for Freshman - Juniors may be paid online, or in the bookstore prior to the last day of school. Fines may also post over the summer and can be pad online or during registration for the 2026-2027 school year. 
• Any device turned in without a charger will result in a $20 fine posted to the student’s account.
