*IMPORTANT INFO* MVHS End of Year Chromebook Collection

Parents and Guardians,

Over the next few weeks we will be conducting chromebook collection for all students. Please refer to this document for information regarding collection dates, collection processes and fee assignments.

Collection Schedule:

  • Senior Collection is on Thursday, May 15th.
  • Freshman-Junior Collection is on Thursday, May 22nd

*If your student is unable to return their chromebook on their assigned collection day, please contact Leela Horner @ 520-579-4400 ext 4438 or email her @ l.m.horner@maranausd.org to make arrangements for dropping off their device.

To support the chromebook collection process, please:

  • Check to confirm that your student has both their chromebook and their ASUS charger, and that both are in good working order. Remove any stickers that have been placed on the chromebook. Staff will NOT collect any devices with stickers until they are removed.
  • Clean the screen with a soft, dry antistatic or microfiber cloth. Do not use any liquid on the device.
  • Remind your student to bring their chromebook and ASUS charger with them to school on their assigned collection day.
  • Check with your student to ensure that they do not have multiple devices in their possession. If this is the case, please advise them to bring all extra loaner devices back to Leela in the library PRIOR to their collection day. Students should only be returning one device and one ASUS charger on their assigned day.

Assessment of Device Condition and Chargers

The condition of all devices will be assessed prior to collection. If a family purchased insurance through the district, standard accidental repairs will be covered*. If the device shows intentional damage e.g., scratching or etching on the cover, a fee may be assessed. If a device is lost or not returned, a replacement charge of $265 will be applied to the student’s account. Fees assessed to Seniors must be paid prior to graduation. Fees assessed to Freshmen-Junior students will be billed over the summer and must be paid when received.

If a charger is lost and not returned at the time of collection or arrangements to return the charger are not made with Leela, a $30 fine will be added to the student’s account.

Devices damaged intentionally or beyond repair as determined by the district will incur a full replacement fee of $265.

*Any charges for damaged devices are subject to review by the District Technology Department. Parent(s)/Guardian(s) will be notified of any charges.*

During collection time, students will receive a receipt verifying their chromebook submittal and noting any damages. Please save this receipt as proof that the device was returned.

Senior Student Google Accounts

At the conclusion of the school year, senior google accounts will be permanently deleted. Please remind your student to save any important files to a separate account or flash drive.

Summer School Chromebooks

  • If your student is registered to take an MDL class over the summer, they will be allowed to keep their chromebook. Teachers will be provided with a list of these students and will determine who will be keeping them during collection time.
  • If they are attending in-person for credit recovery, they need to turn their chromebook in and will be provided with a new device when they attend their in-person class(es).
  • If your student enrolls in MDL summer school late, and they have already turned in their chromebook, they can arrange to visit Leela in the library through 5/30.  Starting the week of 6/2, they need to contact MCAT to set up a time to pick one up.
